SGX Nifty
SGX Nifty was launched in year 2000 and it only became popular among traders in Singapore and India in the recent few years. Many are unsure how SGX Nifty is different from Indian Nifty. In fact, they are about the same.
India Index Services & Products Limited (IISL) is a joint venture between NSE (the National Stock Exchange of India Limited) and CRISIL (formerly Credit Rating Information Services of India Limited) which compiles SGX Nifty Index Futures. In layman's terms, it means SGX Nifty futures are traded in Singapore Stock Exchange but it moves along with the direction of NSE Nifty.

Why trade SGX Nifty Futures
SGX Nifty Futures is currently trading for 16 hours and it opens 3.5hours before NSE Nifty starts trading. Due to its long trading hours, SGX Nifty has seen volume increased by more than ten folds over the recent few years.
There are many reasons to trade SGX Nifty Futures besides the long trading hours:
- Bellwether Benchmark is used to measure the performance of NSE;
- it is denominated in US dollar;
- the commission rates are negotiable, hence low transaction cost;
- trade on an electronic trading platform;
- permit to use MSCI Taiwan, Nikkei 225, MSCI Singapore to offset margins;
